Owen Daley has been a communications practitioner for four decades as newspaper editor, columnist, broadcaster, corporate manager, and senior counselor to client management on marketing and crisis communications as well as media relations. He has represented multi-national and emerging corporations, associations, professional groups, major league sports and government agencies both in the U.S. and throughout the world.

Daley spent eight years as Senior Vice President of Allen & Caron Inc and is currently serving as Senior Media Relations Counsel to the firm. He is providing senior level counseling to A&C and its clients on major-media relations, marketing communications and crisis management projects.

Prior to joining A&C, he was president of The Nestor Group, a Los Angeles strategic corporate, marketing and investor relations communications firm, serving both Fortune 500 and medium-sized firms. While there, he headed the team that helped a large California-based HMO increase its stock price eight-fold in less than three years.

Before operating his own practice, Daley spent 25 years with Hill and Knowlton, much of that time as senior vice president in New York operations, chief executive officer in a Denver joint venture and senior vice president and western regional media resources/crisis management based in Los Angeles.

He also served as on-loan international communications director to the 1982 World's Fair during the pre-opening year and initial operations stages.

He headed crisis teams on behalf of such clients as Dow, Gerber, Gatorade and Kraft, industry associations battling proposed bans on no-return containers, saccharin, cyclamates and indoor heaters, foundry and coke/coal chemical industry groups faced with air and water pollution claims and the petroleum industry.

For several years, he headed the H & K team that represented, as the first and only outside communications counsel, the U.S. Olympic Committee.

He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh (B.S. and B.A.) and Syracuse University (M.S.)
